Find repeated words and phrases in an article, service page, or product description. The Keyword Density Checker counts one-, two-, or three-word phrases, shows their share of available phrase positions, and lets you track a specific phrase in your supplied text.
How to Use Keyword Density Checker
- Paste the content you want to review.
- Choose one-, two-, or three-word phrase analysis.
- Optionally enter a particular phrase to track its occurrences.
- Review the frequency table and revise repetition that does not help the reader.
Review repetition in your content
Frequency analysis can reveal a phrase you have repeated unintentionally or a topic that receives little attention in a draft. The tool lists the top 100 phrases for the selected length. It counts the supplied text only and does not compare your page with search results or estimate keyword demand.
How the percentage is calculated
For one-word phrases, the percentage is occurrences divided by total words. For a phrase of length n, the denominator is the number of available n-word windows: total words minus n plus one. For example, a 100-word text has 99 two-word positions. A two-word phrase appearing five times has a window share of approximately 5.05%. Overlapping occurrences are counted.
Use counts to improve the writing
Review repeated phrases in context. Some repetition is necessary for precise instructions; other repetition can make a page awkward to read. Edit for clarity and coverage rather than forcing a fixed percentage. Check sentence complexity with the Content Readability Checker and organize a supplied keyword list with the Keyword List Organizer.
